I used to think that people who got lost on the trails either really weren't paying attention, couldn't read maps, or were looking to get lost. I can say with some confidence that I am not one of those three, or at least that is what I thought. This was my first attempt at a 13er (a mountain that is over 13000 feet in height, or almost 4 km for my metric toting friends) and we managed to get lost. As you may be able to see in the map below, we made a sharp left turn after the first mile. we had lost the trail (unmarked, by the way) and proceeded along a ridge to "find" the trail. Either way, we had a nice long hike and I got some nice pictures out of the deal.

A little Colorado Walkabout
Less than 8 days into my stay here in Denver I have finally had my time in the sun. It was a mere 9330 feet (2844 meters) but a significant workout. I'm still not sure if the altitude change is still an effect on me, but I was dead tired after this one.
Off in the distance of this one you can see Pike's Peak
