- Proficiency using C++, Java, and Python programming languages
- Proficient in the IBM’s CPLEX and LPSolve optimization tools
- Trained in establishing and solving Linear, Integer, and Mixed Integer Programs, utilizing metaheuristics
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Newmont Mining Corporation May– August 2013- Co-Op Intern – Worked in the Mine Optimization Department at Newmont for strategic long range mine planning and feasibility studies. Used Mixed Integer Programming techniques to develop optimization and mine planning tools using IBM’s CPLEX and C++.
- Co-Op Intern – Worked in the Short Range Planning Team – Shovel Operations, Created and updated shovel limits, bench designs, Provided coverage for Full Time Shovel Planners during their absences, Developed and perfected new short and long term procedures using more advanced software
PROJECTS AND COURSES:
MIP Optimization of an Open Pit Mine January – August 2013- Graduation Project – The objective of this project was to use the programming tool CPLEX to create an optimal schedule for an open pit mine. This optimization process includes: The development of code to read the ore body model and interpret it; Creation of the MIP model; Solve and interpret the results; use various optimization techniques
- Student – Strategic mine planning and optimization under uncertain demand and supply. Modern optimization techniques in mine design and production scheduling. Metal supply and ore body modeling. Market forecasting and planning with flexibility. Valuing information. Stochastic mine optimization and applications in open pit and underground metal mines.
